形态特征
最大SCL雄性25.7 cm，雌性23.7 cm。背甲明显棱脊，呈棕色或橄榄色，腹甲有深色斑纹。指名亚种背甲棱脊较高，obsti亚种腹甲颜色较浅。
生态习性
陆栖性较强，常见于丘陵森林地带，以植物、昆虫为食。繁殖期产卵2-4枚，孵化期约70-80天。
主要威胁与保护
主要威胁是栖息地丧失和非法贸易。保护措施包括CITES附录II限制贸易，在越南等地有养殖计划，但野生种群仍在下降。
