形态特征
最大背甲直线长（SCL）：雄性23.7厘米，雌性47.6厘米。背甲呈淡橄榄色至黄褐色，通常无斑纹或仅有模糊的暗色斑点，是其区别于其他亚种的主要特征。腹甲白色。头部和四肢颜色亦较淡。
生态习性
栖息于大型河流、湖泊及水库的沙质或泥质区域。行动敏捷，擅长游泳和伏击。以鱼类、水生昆虫和甲壳类为食。繁殖期在春末夏初，雌性选择沙质河岸产卵，每窝卵数15-30枚。
主要威胁与保护
主要威胁包括河道工程导致的栖息地改变、农业污染和渔业兼捕。部分区域因宠物贸易而遭采集。保护措施包括CITES附录II管制及美国各州的法律保护，但整体种群稳定。
